Watermans invests in Easymatrix 106 CS and Diana GO 85
Print Solutions Packaging Solutions: Positive About Print
Watermans Printers, based in Cork, has taken delivery of an Easymatrix 106 CS (cutting and stripping) die cutter and a Diana GO 85 folder-gluer from Heidelberg. Watermans believes that this partnership with Heidelberg will ensure the successful expansion of its business into the packaging industry as well.
This purchase marks the company’s first investment into post press packaging equipment, as it moves into this sector and plans to grow this side of the business further in the years to come.
‘Going all the way back to 1954 when Watermans first opened, Heidelberg was the machine of choice for us. Today that partnership is still going strong. We have looked at a number of different options from other suppliers but, none could match the service levels and expertise that Heidelberg offered to us. It was an easy fit for us as we are an all Heidelberg house,’ said Wan Waterman, managing director.
The Easymatrix 106 CS includes a cutting and stripping station. It is an ideal choice for any company looking for a smooth and easy entry into the production of folding cartons. It converts a wide range of materials into cartons that are suitable for packaging and commercial applications. The machine has a maximum cutting speed of 7700 sheets per hour, processing materials that are as thin as 90 g/m2 and boards that are as thick as 2000 g/m2, in formats up to a maximum size of 760 x 1060 mm.
The Diana GO 85 is suitable for materials such as 200 to 600 g/m2 solid boards, E flute corrugated boards and certain types of paper stocks. It can run a wide range of carton styles, including straight line and lock bottom, as well as document wallets, envelopes, CD sleeves and some special applications, depending on the size of the product and the number of folds.
