C&T Channel Matrix (C&T) works tirelessly with its die making customers across the UK to ensure its best selling creasing matrix, XTC, is always their go-to product.

XTC is an advanced make ready system and is available in over 1000 variations. Made from high grade PVC, its versatility, value and quality have led to it becoming one of the most popular creasing matrix worldwide. Alongside standard matrix, it is available in specials such as u-bend, off centre, mini and multi-crease.

Howard Mead, C&T Group commercial director, explained: ‘XTC has been designed to overcome specific production issues and deal with an ever increasing and demanding range of substrates. The only way we can do this is by working closely with our customers to understand the needs and challenges they face so we are able to improve performance and enhance the finished product.’

XTC is used comprehensively by carton and corrugated manufacturers and printers and print finishers across the UK. Among recent converts to the XTC range are Cutting Edge and Diecut Finish from Leeds, Cullen Packaging in Glasgow, and Spellman Walker.

Demonstrating their flexible customer service, C&T Matrix supplies XTC to corrugated packaging manufacturer Cullen Packaging on reels, which helps the customer to keep waste and costs low. Chris Adams, production manager at Cullen Packaging, commented: ‘We now purchase all our creasing products from C&T. Customer service is outstanding and it is always available for technical support; and it is a great product at a great price.’

Customer service and technical support from C&T Matrix has also helped print production specialists Spellman Walker, which runs a wide variety of matrix for its flatbed and cylinders, to overcome production issues. Antony Ibbotson, technical director of Spellman Walker, commented: ‘Our customers are very demanding, so we need the very best creasing and C&T has helped us to overcome our cracking issues.’

It is an experience matched by Cutting Edge as production manager Stuart Clayton observed, ‘We get a great service from C&T; it is very professional and quick to respond. It has excellent knowledge to understand and help with problem solving.’

The fact that XTC is manufactured in the UK was a boon for Diecut Finish’s managing director Phil Haigh, who said: ‘After broad trialling, we found the best product was made in Great Britain! C&T’s fantastic technical service and fast delivery is always a big plus.’
