C&T Matrix works in partnership with Sprint Finishers

C&T Channel Matrix (C&T) is continuously working with clients to ensure they achieve the very best creasing results and optimise their matrix performance.

One stop print finishers are unusual, but Sprint Finishers, based in Leeds, offers a full range of finishing solutions for commercial printers and folding carton manufacturers. Cutting and creasing up to B1 format in addition to folder gluers that handle every style of folding application for the most challenging carton design. Coupled with its own in house die shop, the company is one of the UK’s leading experts in print finishing.

C&T has been working with the production team at Sprint to help improve creasing performance. Steve Bell, managing director at Sprint, explained why this partnership is proving so successful: ‘At Sprint we require an adaptable range of creasing matrix that can cope with a diverse range of finishing that is presented by the challenging variety of work we undertake. Quality, reliability and problem solving are key factors for us when selecting a supplier,’ he said.

After initial trials, C&T now supplies Rapido and Duroprint ranges of specialty creasing matrix, including special profiles, to Sprint – these products have helped to improve creasing performance, accuracy and have a strong adhesion to the plate which is easy to remove.

Rapido is a revolutionary new PVC creasing matrix which features a special shoulder radius to optimise sheet transfer, and a routed channel for additional strength.

Duroprint, made from vulcanised fibre, can withstand over 120,000 impressions. It has external shoulders chamfered down to a point, meaning, therefore, that the use of tape is not necessary, and the board passes freely over the matrix.

Steve said, ‘We produce a very wide range of products for our clients and therefore need to have a partner that can adapt to our production needs. C&T offers great products that do just that!
