Next week is National Apprenticeship Week 2022, and the BPIF will be celebrating by hosting a range of daily webinars via Zoom. The webinars will be aimed at helping employers and individuals understand how they can support apprentices and how they can get more involved in apprenticeships to help individuals develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career and help employers build a workforce with future ready skills. There will also be an opportunity to recognise past and present apprentices’ achievements and to hear first hand about their experiences, the benefits apprenticeships bring and what it is like to be an apprentice. You will also be able to find more information about careers in print, apprenticeship funding, recruitment and apprentice vacancies.


The BPIF will be hosting the following webinars for free throughout the week from 10 am to 11 am. Please register in advance by clicking on the zoom link for the webinar you are interested in to confirm your place.



Day 1 – Monday 7 February, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: Careers in Print: Apprenticeships and Lifelong Learning



You will gain an insight into the career possibilities and progression routes within our vibrant, thriving print industry. The webinar will consist of a panel of expert apprentices, across a range of programmes and levels, answering questions on their experiences and the industry.



Day 2 – Tuesday 8 February, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: Apprenticeship Funding: Maximising Financial Support Available



Aimed at employers of all sizes, this webinar will guide you through the funding opportunities available to support you with your apprenticeship provision. If you are a large business wondering how to utilise your apprenticeship levy or a small business concerned about the cost of hiring an apprentice, then this webinar is for you. Other funding opportunities will also be explored to build capacity within your business.



Day 3 – Wednesday 9 February, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: A Journey in Print



Aimed at employers and apprentices, this webinar will take you through a journey in print. If you are an employer you will hear about how an apprentice can complement your current workforce and for apprentices, you will be able to get an insight into how print has changed through the generations and the value you can gain from the years’ of experience your mentors in the industry have.



Day 4 – Thursday 10 February, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: Apprenticeship Recruitment and Vacancies – Where to Start?



Aimed at employers, parents, carers, guardians, students and teachers, this webinar aims to give you the tools to ensure that your apprenticeship vacancy attracts highly motivated candidates as well as ensuring that as a young person, you are positioning yourself in the best way to get that job!



Day 5 – Friday 11 February, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: Apprenticeship Week Wrap-Up



Karly Lattimore, managing director of BPIF Training, will reflect on National Apprenticeship Week 2022, giving a summary of some key conversations from the week as well as highlighting the plans for the BPIF in the coming year.
