Ovendens donates 250 trees to the Queen’s Green Canopy

Ovendens is a fourth generation family owned, independent British paper merchant, and part of the AIMS Group of companies. It was recently awarded CarbonNeutral Company certification and it decided to support the Queen’s Green Canopy, which ties in with the culture of sustainability.

The Queen’s Green Canopy initiative is a charity that enables the public and business to donate one or more trees towards creating new green spaces across the UK.

‘When we heard about the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative we thought it was a fabulous idea and wanted to make a meaningful contribution. Tree planting is synonymous with our industry and being able to support a worthy cause, with such a strong legacy was a wonderful opportunity at a time when people are coming together to celebrate,’ said Charles Eaton, head of marketing at the AIMS Group.

Charles continued, ‘This campaign is a collaboration between Ovendens and its customers, who were encouraged to donate one or more trees to the initiative and Ovendens would match that donation.

‘The customers have been fantastic in their support. One customer donated a tree for each one of its 16 employees, which was a nice touch!’
