The Label Makers has collaborated with cocktail mixologists, White Label Cocktails, to produce labels for the Marksologist range by M&S. The selection of six premium, ready to drink cocktails has been created to the highest mixologist standard and are designed to replicate the in-bar drinking experience of a five star cocktail bar. The range comprises cocktail bar menu favourites such as a Golden Negroni, an Espresso Martini, the Verdita Margarita, the Clover Club, Passion Star Martini and Cacao & Aged Rum Old Fashioned.
The process of creating the labels, from concept to final print, took several months. The Label Makers was involved at the very beginning of the artwork concept stage, liaising very closely with brand identity and packaging design specialist Sand Creative to agree print methods, embellishments and materials that would work well with the designs.
Once conceptual artwork had been agreed, The Label Makers worked in tandem with SGK and M&S, to complete the reprographic stage of the project, thereby ensuring the designs would print to expectations. Following various artwork meetings to ensure a smooth packaging launch, the labels were then flexo printed, to include hot foil, emboss, deboss and tactile in line embellishments. The end result saw each label having its own distinguished look and feel through a use of different uncoated and textured materials.
‘We were delighted to be asked to work with M&S and partners on the new Marksologist range of products. Each design really utilises the extensive in line embellishments that our MPS flexo presses have to offer. It was a joy to be involved in the whole process from artwork concept stage through to label application,’ said The Label Makers’ Ben Robinson.
