Latitude Mapping shows coach customers the way

Print Solutions

A simple, but clever idea is helping Peter Hogg Coaches to to promote its service between Hawick, Jedburgh and Kelso.

Peter Hogg Coaches is based in Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders. The company worked with local Galashiels based sign and print company, Invision Signs, to come up with an innovative idea. It was decided to wrap one of its buses with a map of the new route, so travellers could see exactly where the bus was going.

The company contacted Ordnance Survey, Britain’s National Mapping Agency, which recommended that the best partner would be Latitude Mapping Ltd.

Latitude discussed with owner Peter Hogg what the company wanted to achieve. The requirement was for a map on each side of the bus to clearly show the route, with key towns and villages along the way. The background should reflect the terrain of the area.

Peter Hogg was able to supply detailed diagrams and measurements of each side of the bus so that Latitude Mapping could create a map that would work on both sides without obscuring drivers’ sightlines or existing logos. From this information the company was able to create a map using Ordnance Survey map data redrawn to suit Peter Hogg’s requirements.

Latitude then supplied the print ready artwork to Invision Signs for the wrap to be completed.

Peter Hogg Coaches is now running not only an eye catching bus but an informative one with potential passengers left in no doubt as to its route!
