Ace binding reinvests in Renz after record growth

Print Solutions

Just 12 months after investing the UK’s first Renz Inline 500 Compact automatic punching and binding machine Ace Binding has installed a Renz Inline 500 Classic fully automatic punching and binding machine.

Rob Hart, director of the Birmingham operation, explained: ‘We took the decision to invest in the Renz Inline 500 Compact because demand for wire binding meant we were full and having to run a lot of overtime shifts. It addressed that immediately and paid for itself in six months. It more than exceeded our expectations.

‘Then demand grew quickly which meant we were starting to run more and more overtime shifts again. We even got to the point where we were having to turn work away.

‘We spoke to Renz and they recommended the next system up – the Inline 500 Classic . It was a no brainer. It has more than doubled our capacity. That gives us some breathing space especially in the run up to our busiest time of the year.’

The versatile industrial, high speed, fully automatic punching and ring wire binding line for books, calendars and skip binding can produce a wide range of formats. It is operator friendly, multi language, touch screen control panel allows format changes to be made quickly and easily.

It includes QSA (Quick Size Adjustment) for high flexibility and quick changes between different paper formats. Additionally, options for integrated cover turning, a job memory function for automatic machine setting storage and an automated cross stacking system for finished product leaving the machine are all available.

Hart continued, ‘It is faster and allows us to be more versatile with the size and thickness of books and calendars. We are finding customers are increasingly requesting bespoke products which it can easily handle.

‘The wire binding side of the business is our most productive and seeing record growth,’ he concluded. ‘As a result, we expect the new system to achieve return on investment in 18 months.’
