Delivering human kindness
Print Solutions: Positive About Print
Epson UK has recently completed a project with Longdean School, based in Hemel Hempstead, to design and wrap the Human Milk Foundation’s new ‘Mobile Milk’ urgent delivery vehicle – the first of its kind in the UK. The Human Milk Foundation, which is Epson’s official charity partner in the UK, helps families feed their babies with human milk by providing screened donor milk to sick, premature babies in NICUs, and to mothers with cancer and other illnesses.
The charity wanted to wrap its ‘Smart’ car in a creative, vibrant and stand out design to help raise general awareness of the charity and its services while the vehicle was delivering milk to families and hospitals across Hertfordshire and East Anglia. Epson responded to this challenge by teaming up with local school, Longdean and launched a competition amongst its students to come up with the best design for the Milk-Mobile. When the final design was agreed on, Epson then used one of its SureColor SC-S80600 wide format printers to print the designs, with local car wrapping specialists, Max Media Prints using their expertise to wrap the vehicle.
Daniel Quelch, sustainability manager at Epson UK, said: ‘The application of our product solutions to support the Human Milk Foundation has been a key component in our partnership and we’re glad to see this exciting project come to life with the help of Epson’s large format signage printers. Working with Longdean School to engage its students with raising awareness for our charity partner has been tremendous fun and we hope that through activities such as this, we become one step closer to getting the Human Milk Foundation the much needed support they need to meet the increased demand from families across the country.’
