Canon launches Red Label Zero paper range

Print Solutions

Canon has expanded its Red Label Zero FSC range designed for businesses who demand superior quality and professional looking documents. Ideal for supporting print companies and corporate organisations looking to achieve their own CO2 net zero goals, the responsibly sourced papers are ClimatePartner and FSC certified.

As part of the process for ClimatePartner certification, product carbon footprint has been calculated, reduction targets defined, and reductions implemented – climate projects have also been financed to take responsibility for any residual emissions. Adding to this, Canon also has partnerships with mills that hold recognised certifications such as EU Ecolabel and ISO 9706 for sustainable practices and longevity.

The new Red Label Zero cut sheet and reel papers, first previewed at drupa 2024, are being launched as part of the company’s Zero paper range. Replacing the existing Red Label Superior range, Red Label Zero will offer the same high quality papers with equivalent size options and a broad range of weights, helping customers who are seeking more sustainable options for print and scan solutions.

The range is ideal for commercial and office prints that demand superior quality. The paper’s exceptional smoothness enhances sharp contrast and vivid colours, while its high volume composition ensures a whiteness of 168 CIE and superior opacity. The paper provides reliable runnability and uptime for both toner and inkjet printers and suits a broad range of high quality applications. It is available in sizes from A4, A3 and SRA3 (reels available on demand) with weights ranging from 80 to160 g/m2.

Dominic Fahy, head of corporate, said: ‘Sustainability is a key part of our corporate philosophy. From paper ranges through to upgradable and long lasting print hardware, we are committed to helping our customers to continuously lower the environmental footprint of their operations. Since the launch of the first Zero range in partnership with ClimatePartner in 2012, we have financially contributed to multiple climate projects which help us to take responsibility for any residual emissions from our products. Today, we are proud to be able to offer sustainable manufacturing and product CO2 footprint compensation from cradle to customer for our papers, further enabling us to provide sustainable options for our customers and to support them with their own CO2 net zero goals.’
