Durham Box supports Feeding Families charity

Packaging Solutions

In what has proved to be a very difficult year for many families throughout the UK, corrugated packaging manufacturer, County Durham based Durham Box, has once again been supporting its chosen local charity, Feeding Families. The company has donated Christmas hamper boxes and a large quantity of dump bins, designed and printed free of charge.

The charity, which is a lifeline for many families, delivers food all year round to families in food poverty. Since April this year it has delivered over 80,000 meals across the region, covering Sunderland, Newcastle, County Durham, Northumberland, and Teesside. For this Christmas, Durham Box has provided 7000 hamper boxes, compared to 3000 boxes supplied in 2019. The company also donates food and assists in packing the boxes annually.

‘Feeding Families is facing its biggest challenge this Christmas,’ said CEO Juliet Sanders. ‘Once again Durham Box has been hugely supportive with its supply of boxes and this year also dump bins. The pressure is now on to bring in donations from around the region. With dump bins placed in shops, businesses and schools from Berwick to Middlesbrough, we need them filled so that no family goes without this year. If you are in the area, see if you can spot one – or pop over to our website at www.feedingfamilies.org.uk to find out where your nearest one is.’

Commenting on its involvement with Feeding Families, Dan Morris, Durham Box’s managing director, said: ‘We are delighted to be supporting our chosen charity Feeding Families again this year. For those who are struggling in food poverty across the region, this year has been particularly challenging for many families. We are glad that we can make a difference with our donation.’
