Mark Andy has announced the launch of its latest production inkjet press, Digital Series iQ. Built on the company’s proven Evolution Series flexographic platform for application flexibility, the press uses a Domino N610i UV inkjet module for high quality production class printing. Boasting proven digital technology from Domino and Mark Andy’s award winning web handling and digital implementation, the Digital Series iQ delivers maximum performance at an affordable initial capital investment level. Digital Series iQ is available for immediate order.
Joining Mark Andy’s digital hybrid solutions, Digital Series HD and Digital Pro, Digital Series iQ follows the path of its digital portfolio companions by combining high resolution digital print and the flexibility of in line converting to maximise revenue generation.

The Digital Series iQ can be configured with up to even UV inkjet colours (CMYKOV+WW). Hybrid converting components can be integrated to meet each customer’s specific requirements. Print stations, semi rotary die cutting, rail system, and in line slitting are common options selected by some early adopters.
The press has a high quality print resolution achieving speeds up to 70 metres per minute in rapid production mode. The press also integrates software solutions from Esko and Global Graphics. This includes ScreenPro for workflow and digital front end processes, to process files and variable data or high SKU count applications. Consumables are available through Mark Andy Print Products and full system support will be provided by the company’s dedicated digital customer support team. Domino technical service staff are working closely with the Mark Andy team to support the roll out to the market.

David Ellen, divisional director, Domino Digital Printing Solutions, said: ‘We are excited for the partnership with Mark Andy, a company with a reputation for prioritising its customers’ needs and new technology. By marrying its best in class flexographic printing and converting machinery with Domino’s renowned inkjet technology, we expect Digital Series iQ to emerge as a leading hybrid solution for a wide variety of applications.’
Despite the challenges of last year due to Covid-19, 2020 was a strong year for Mark Andy’s digital programme, including record setting bookings for the Digital Series HD true hybrid and Digital Pro solutions. This momentum is expected to continue with Digital Series iQ, which unlocks a new market segment seeking a robust inkjet hybrid press at a modest price point.
David Medlar, vice president of Digital, Mark Andy, noted: ‘We are excited to offer the new Digital Series iQ to our customers. Based on their feedback, we have heard they would love to see us offer a Domino digital marking technology integrated with Mark Andy flexographic and converting technology. With the new Digital Series iQ, we can now combine Domino’s established digital UV engine with our world leading flexo printing material handling and inline finishing.’
The press makes inkjet printing, and more specifically digital hybrid printing, attainable for more of the industry’s label and packaging manufacturers interested in expanding into production level digital printing.
