Roland DG transforms imagination into reality with new applications wall

Print Solutions

It has been a busy few months at the Roland DG UK Academy and Creative Centre at the company’s Clevedon headquarters. As well as hosting a range of educational courses and holding a highly successful open day, Creative Centre manager Joe Wigzell has been busy creating a new applications wall showcasing the breadth of applications that can be achieved using Roland DG technology.

A feature wall has been created to demonstrate elements of the design and creation process and the kind of results that can be achieved using techniques taught on the academy courses. Joe said, "I really wanted to inspire guests visiting our headquarters and capture the imagination of dealers, customers and colleagues about what can be achieved using Roland DG technology.

‘By demonstrating how the design process works – from initial sketches through to application and merging a range of technologies – I wanted to create an embodiment of our ethos ‘Transforming your Imagination into Reality’.’

The wall highlights a wide range of techniques including the design to output process; foamboard printing; reverse printing; wall graphics; textured and embossed materials; backlit panels; milling; dye-sublimation printing; hemming and eyeletting; apparel; heat pressing; and more.

All of the applications were created with Roland DG solutions including the TrueVis VG-640 wide format printer/cutter; the Soljet EJ-640 high volume printer; the VersaUV LEF-200, VersaUV LEF-300 and VersaUV LEF-12i flatbed printers; the Modela MDX-540 bench top milling machine; and the Texart XT-640 high volume dye sublimation printer.
