Swanline launches Cygnus Reelboard

Swanline Paper and Board (SPB) has been appointed by Reelbrands to distribute Reelboard under Swanline’s Cygnus brand. The new range of barrier coated materials gives a viable alternative to PE laminated grades, by using a SeerPak aqueous coating. The new line of material is suitable for direct food contact and has been proven to be resilient to grease and moisture through the clever micro applied, layered coatings.

Swanline Group has been affiliated with Reelbrands for over two years. The company is looking forward to bringing this moisture and grease resistant, fully recyclable material to market, which it believes will be a huge benefit for those looking to become more eco conscious, without having to compromise on quality.

Cygnus Reelboard fits well within Swanline’s portfolio of products because they all provide a plastic free solution. It sits alongside the Cygnus Eco Board – a water resistant material designed to service the point of sale and signage sectors.

The new Cygnus Reelboard materials are available in both virgin kraft/white and part recycled versions, all with similar barrier properties. As Swanline provides an end to end service from design through to production and distribution, there are no end of possibilities that can be achieved with this substrate.

Cygnus Reelboard is made in the UK with sustainable materials that are BPA/PFA free and FSC/PEFC Certified. The range of materials is certified with the Plastic Free Certification Mark as well as being 100% recyclable, biodegradable and compostable.

The range is ideal to use across a variety of packaging applications, especially in the food industry.
